Self love = Best Love

Growing up as teenagers in this word is scary. We overthink. Compare ourselves to others. But more than anything we lose the self-love, self-worth, & confidence we once radiated as children. Remember that smiling 3 year old who was bouncing up and down, screaming and playing in the house? That was us teens just a decade ago. I believe that the first step of happiness, is to truly love yourself.

The quote above resonates with me because over time I’ve come to accept that I’m stuck with who I am. Friends will come and go. Some years will come with great memories and unforgettable adventures and another year there will be loss, tragedy, and change. But what doesn’t ever leave, is yourself. Yes it seems silly to say this but in reality it’s true.

I was on a walk with my Mom the other day and of course we we’re talking about high school gossip. I told her I didn’t want a relationship at the moment and she told me that she didn’t think I was ready for one anyways. I asked her if it was age, but she told me no.

“How can you can expect to be in a relationship with somebody who loves you, if you don’t even fully love yourself.”

I believe that our journey to self-love is a rollercoaster. The ride feels short for some while others feel like it goes on forever. It has its ups and downs, twists and turns but the end destination is never out of sight.

I guess the only wisdom I can give about Self-Love (which this topic will never be done talked about in this blog!) is that whoever you are, wherever you are in this world-take a step back. Look at yourself within. Express gratitude for being alive! Tell yourself kind things. Visualize your highest self and then show up as them. Be proud of anything you have accomplished. Whether that’s simply getting out of bed to turning in a pretty solid essay. If we continue to praise ourselves for little things, overtime we will recognize our self-worth.

So here’s to blooming while we can and lifting our own spirits during these unconventional times.

Peace & Good Vibes

Falls and failures do occur in this life. Ideal thing would be to anticipate or foresee and guard against it. Sometimes failures do come suddenly out of the blue.. This is the time not to blame others but to gather oneself , face the things quietly and rise again to face the challenges. Of course this requires self belief.
