dive into a clearer state of mind with these 3 affirmations

Do you ever feel like your brain is crowded at times, when life gets busier and your schedule gets more stressful? Or that moment where your head finally hits the pillow and you feel like the day’s hustle and bustle is finally being released from your shoulders.

When life gets crowded, it’s important that our minds don’t follow it. A clear state of mind is beneficial in many ways. For one, a clear state of mind can lead you to look at the more positive things in life. Additionally it is helpful for forgetting about your problems, lessen your worries, and sharpen your purpose.

I like to call these affirmations, but they are also known as “truths”. When you have a list of these so called truths in your life, and when you learn to live by what they mean, they then help us grow and move ahead in the pathway we want to follow. Take a look at these 3 truths for better thinking during taxing moments.

1. Today is a clean slate.

Every day is a brand new opportunity. This can mean many things for many people, A new day to start over on that college essay. A new day to be nicer to my parents. A new day to watch High School Musical- because why not?

This truth is important to me, because it means that nothing is truly permanent. A bad day comes and goes but the next day does not reflect off of it. It is somewhat invigorating to know that a new day is a new start. There were so many times in my life where I thought the failures I received one day would ruin everything. As time went on, I came to realize that the loss of one would blossom another.

So for those of you who are having a bad day. My advice? Breath. Sleep on it or just nap to some Netflix. I’m currently loving “New Girl” for some wholesome laughs. When you wake up tomorrow I want you to say, “Today is a new day!” It is NOT stupid to wake up positive ready to go after what you want. Thomas Edison said “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” So if takes 10,000 days, so what?! Every day is something new.

2. You can’t be both awesome and negative. Choose one. –Karen Salmansohn.

I cannot repeat this enough…. it is HUMAN NATURE to be negative! I am guilty of this behavior. Very guilty. Especially during my teen years, negativity was like an invasion of a bug, it always crept up on me in random moments and sometimes it took a lot to take away!

I love this quote because it reminds me that if I want to be awesome, I can’t be negative. And I think we can all agree-who would choose negativity over being awesome.

The purpose behind this truth, is to adjust your perspective. A lot of times as a teenager, we affiliate negativity or cruelty with “being cool”. This quote reminds us that keeping things real and keeping things positive affiliate with being cool. Hey, maybe our parents were right all along 🙂

3. I am the master builder of my life. I choose the blocks and can always rebuild.

Credit goes to Life Unadorned for this truth. This statement is powerful because it tells us that after all, we are in ultimate control.

No one else runs the show, we do!

When you are having a jumbled mind moment, this can help clear it because after all it is somewhat of a refreshing reminder to know that we can turn anything around to how we want it to be.

If some things don’t go our way, it is up to ourselves to “rebuild”. We are the builders, no one else is.

We have the control.

If you are feeling down, I hope that you can take a deep breath, close your eyes and remember these truths. Focus on their meaning and step by step day by day try to implement them into your life. The best is yet to come!

Peace & Good Vibes,

Maya ❤
