popular health drinks: Pros & Cons

Has there ever been a time when you’ve come across an Instagram post on your explore page, a random add on the internet, or even occasionally a viral tik tok advertising a “magical drink” that can help you lose belly fat/lose weight?

Many of these drinks (smoothies, juices, detox waters) do include several health benefits. As for weight loss, it may or may not be the case. Let’s take a look at the Pros/Cons of the popular ones, so you can be assured the drinks you put into your lifestyle are beneficial!

1. apple cider vinegar

Oh, the good ol ACV as I call it. Apple Cider Vinegar and I go way back. ACV is the vinegar produced from fermented apple juice. People have used the “home remedy” for centuries from cooking, medicinal values, and in the present day-even weight loss!

Apple Cider Vinegar:

PROS : has various health benefits including antioxidant effects, can lower blood sugar levels, can aid in weight loss, reduces cholesterol, and could even improve the symptoms of diabetes.

CONS: if taken on a daily basis, ACV can ruin your teeth, it is very powerful and so if you have a weak stomach/digestive system this is not for you. Lastly in my opinion, ACV smells and tastes horrible and must be had either in water or blended with something else.

Final Comments: Overall, ACV is extremely effective (from my personal experience). At times ACV can be hard to take down which is why the ACV tablets which I have also tried are just as equally amazing. If you are looking for something with large health benefits, ACV is definitely something to test out. I will say, however, plug your nose and proceed with caution πŸ™‚

2. Celery juice

Celery Juice is up next! Celery is literally AMAZING-with loads of health benefits such as calcium, silicon, Vitamin K, an several other vitamins and minerals, this will leave you feeling fulfilled.

PROS : High in many great things (as mentioned above), helps with digestion (big one!), reduces inflammation, can help you lose weight, can help relax nerves, and improve overall bodily function

CONS : The only con I can think of for celery juice is that if 1) if you are allergic to celery than this drink will do a lot more harm than good 2) be sure to not overdo the intake of celery as too much raw celery can lead to other far worse side effects (malnutrition, goiters, etc.)

Final Comments: I tried Celery Juice every morning during the past few months at home and one effect that I had was I noticed my digestive system was a lot more clean. How can I tell this? Through my visits to the bathroom. Going #2 is a lot easier with this cleanse. It also improved my skin making it look healthier and brighter. Celery Juice is amazing but should be consumed with caution as you want a balanced amount, never to overdo it πŸ™‚

3. green tea/black tea/lemon detox water

All of these drinks are more common than the others. What people don’t realize is that they are very beneficial to health and go past things such as weight loss. Most of the Pros/Cons affiliated with these are the same:

PROS : strong antioxidants effects, reduces risk of heart disease, can increase focus, releases stress, keeps you hydrated, can lead to better digestion and thus weight loss

CONS : honestly the only thing I can think of is to make sure the tea you have isn’t caffeinated and if it is than make sure you aren’t drinking it at night because then you will be wide awake with no sleep !

Final comments: I absolutely love green tea! I think it is an amazing drink to incorporate in your life! Black tea is also great with a stronger taste which may not suit some. Lastly some warm water with some honey, turmeric, and lemon is amazing for cleansing out the digestive/immune systems and keeping you hydrated throughout the day and night.

You just gotta love a simple health drink or two to add into your morning breakfast plans or right b4 bed! Do back sure to read about these drinks beforehand because while they work oh so well, they come with some things that should be put at caution! Good luck!
